CranioSacral Therapy

Advanced Orthopedic Physical Therapy is expanding our services to provide CranioSacral Therapy. CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a hands-on, light-touch approach to treatment to help release tension, pain, and dysfunction in the body. This gentle technique can be safely used on patients of all ages, from newborns to elderly with varying levels of pain and conditions.

Why is CranioSacral Therapy So Beneficial?

The CranioSacral system extends from the head (cranium) down to the base of the spine (sacrum) and consists of soft tissues and fluid that protect the brain and spinal cord. Our bodies function through a complex system of nerves and muscles that build tension and strain with stress and injuries.

CST aides in helping to decrease this Central Nervous System activity to reduce stress patterns in the body and decrease tension in the muscle and fascial systems through light touch manual techniques. This light touch starts with about the weight of a nickel and works to release strain surrounding our Central Nervous System. This helps the body to reduce pain, stress, and enhance our body’s ability to heal.
